We bid farewell to Willie Edward Burgess of Milton, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 23, 2025 at the age of 91. Willie Edward touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Ellen Walters Burgess and Cansas Andrew Burgess; his former wife Betty Robbins Burgess; his wife Edna Jeanette "Jenny" Turner Burgess; his son Ricky Burgess (Ronnie Burgess); his stepdaughter Rita Poe; his grandson Jeremy Poe; his son-in-law Jerry Austin; and his siblings, Gracie Gregory, Jim Gregory, Shelby Gregory and Ernest Gregory.
He is survived by: his children, Benny Burgess (JoAnn) of Madison, Indiana, Tracey Burgess-Austin of Milton and Ranee Wilson (Rodger) of Madison, Indiana; his daughter-in-law Lolita Burgess of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Julia Burgess, Rickey Burgess II, Marcus Burgess, Ray Burgess, Devan Wilson and Rayne Austin. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Milton Baptist Church (10076 US-421, Milton, KY 40045). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Baptist Church.
