He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolan Ayres and Florence Ayres (Roberts); his former wife Ann Carol Thomas Ayres; his siblings, James Lewis Ayres and Lily Mae Meyer; and his stepdaughter Angelina Regina Ginn.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Stockdale Ayres; his children, James Robert "Bobby" Ayres (Stacy), Diane Carol Mason (Jim), Donna Sue Barlow (Jeff) and Karen Lee Mendyk (Rich); and his stepchildren, Ronda Rader (Doyle) and Rick Peak (Dawn). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.
