He is survived by: his wife Jane Ellen Powell Johnston; his children, Loressa Kaye Johnson (Greg) of Leitchfield, Winnett Powell of Leitchfield, Ellen Pharis of Leitchfield, William "Billy" Johnston, Jr. (Jerri) of Leitchfield and Garrett Johnston (Nicole) of Millwood; his grandchildren, Tristan (Shana), Peyton, Brooklyn, Taylor (Abby), Landon, Dalton, Gillian (Briley), Will, Abbi, Charli, Alexis (Connor), Amber (Neil) and Mason; his great grandchildren, Katelynn, Lily, Bentlee, Addison, Paisley, Caden and Elleigh; and his siblings, Jerry, Wayne (Carol), Jed, David "Doodie" (Phyllis), Charlie (Patty), Joseph "Joe" Johnston (Linda), Betty Johnston, Barbara Childress, Patricia "Tish" Powell (Harlan), Sharon Roberts (Hayward), Marlene Hedger (Dick), Anita "Tootsie" Jaggers and Mary Jonell Chambers (Eddie).
