It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Noonchester of Middlesboro, Kentucky, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Melton and Pauline Wilson Proffitt; her sons, Tim Jones and Billy R. Jones; her grandchildren, Stephen Jones and Brooke Jones; and her brothers, Rodney Melton, Stanley Proffitt and Jimmy Proffitt.
She is survived by: her niece Sara Fultz; her husband Edward Noonchester; her children, Kenneth Jones, Darryl Jones, Steve Jones and Angela Noonchester Jones (Tommy); her daughters-in-law, Jean Jones and Melody Jones; her grandchildren, Courtney Jones, Ryan Jones, Mary Jones, Candi Jones, Ondrea Jones, Gage Jones, Corey Wells and Eli Jones; her siblings, Jeanne Posner, Penny Smith (Frank), Randy Melton, Sheila Melton, Amanda Juanita Proffitt and Joyce Mason; her nieces and nephews, David Posner, Howie Posner and Theresa Webb; and her great grandchildren, Skyy Mills, Lilly Jones and Demarion Jones. She is also survived by other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that memorial donations be made to the Noonchester family to help with unforeseen medical expenses during Shirley's illness.
