Nora Elizabeth McCreary Obituary

Nora Elizabeth Disney McCreary, 70 of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Healthcare Facility, after a long illness. She was a believer in the Christian Faith.

Nora was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 5, 1951. She grew up and was educated in Barbourville and Harlan, Kentucky.

Nora received her Nursing degree from Pineville Community School of Nursing on July 22, 1977, and enjoyed a long career as a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Harlan and Middlesboro Appalachian Reginal Health Care. She loved her career but retired in February of 2005, due to health issues.

Preceding Nora in death was her parents, Walter Edward and Mary Ann Bledsoe Disney; and siblings, William Ray, Gary Lee, and Larry Wayne Disney.

Nora was an avid reader, enjoyed interior design, gardening, movies, music, and true crime documentaries.

Those left to grieve Nora's passing include her daughter, Melissa Lea McCreary of Middlesboro, Kentucky; siblings, R. L. Disney of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Janice Disney of Middlesboro, Kentucky, and Charlene Day of Spring Hill, Tennessee; special brother and sister-in-law, Sandra Disney of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Maynard D. Day of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Penny Disney of Tazewell, Tennessee; also included are a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

At the request of the deceased, services will not be observed at this time. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
