She was predeceased by: her parents, Green Carnes and Ruby Carnes. She is survived by: her sons, Bruce Messer of Middlesboro and Joe Messer (Geneva) of Flat Lick, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Terri Jo Green (James) of Flat, Stuart Messer (Brooke) of Flat, Petra Messer of Flat and Sierra Adams (Josh) of Flat; her great grandchildren, Tucker, Easton, Mattie and Everly Jo; her niece Vickie Washam; and her close friends, Jewel Meyers, Evelyn Goodin and Margie Huff.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shumate Funeral Home (2321 W Cumberland Ave, Middlesboro, KY 40965). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 2:45 PM.
