He is survived by: his sisters, Betty Ely and Marjorie Ely Cobb Hodge; his parents-in-law, Maggie Marie Hunley Brimm and Clarence "Tug" Brimm; his brothers-in-law, Jimmie Brimm and Earl Brimm (Brenda Sue Burchfield); his children, Sonya Ely England (Robert) and Richard Ely; his grandchildren, Robert Christopher England and Halie Diane Ely; his great grandchildren, Blake Evans, Steven Hoover and Bradley England; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Sue Brimm Frazier and Brenda Kay Brimm Burchfield.
