He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Helms and Jerry Helms; and his siblings, Carolyn Sue Helms, Joe Lee and Douglas "Junebug" Helms (Tina) of South Carolina.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his children, India Raske (Nick) and Leron Gregory (Hayley); his grandchildren, Aidenn, Elijah and Isaac; his brothers, Gene Helms of Middlesboro, Jim Helms (Nancy) of Berea and Dan Helms of New York; and his close friend Paul Young. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
