He was predeceased by: his parents, Governor Thomas Sr. and Mary Simms; his adoptive parents, Amanda Brown and Jake Brown; his grandson Colton Jemison; and his siblings, Christopher Thomas, Jake Brown Jr., William "Doll" Brown, Charles Brown, George Brown, Howard "Duckie" Brown, Patty Jo Kyle, Vivian Brooks, Louise Glover and Mary Betty McNeil.
He is survived by: his children, Damien Jemison (Ashley), Marvin Minger, Deveni Minger, Emery Minger, Marcus Mille (Ginger), Roszetta Minger (Dave) and Marissa Thomas; his siblings, Bobby Brown, Johnny Brown, Jeanette Brown, Charlene Scott, Ivie Hubbard, Gloria Johnson, Brenda Williams and Donzella Kelly; his grandchildren, Choley, Courtlyn and Carlie Jemison; and his close friends, Robert Epperson, Bill Freeman, Birdell Ballenger, James Patterson and James Givens.
