He was predeceased by: his parents, Vester Barnett and Bessie Barnett; his sons, Joshua and Jeffrey; and his siblings, Jimmy Wayne Barnett and Betty Barnett.

He is survived by: his son Donnie Barnett II (Hope); his grandson Bake Barnett; his friend Cheryl Wilson; and his siblings, David, Bennie, Kenny, Roger Barnett, Joyce Buttery and Delores Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
