He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Rains and Thelma Rains; his siblings, Lisa Rains Lay and Logan Rains; his grandparents, Jack, Bessie Rains, Clarence and Dossie Raines; and his uncle Rayboy.

He is survived by: his daughter Lindsey Mahan (Michael); his grandchildren, Haylee Flanary, Jaylynn Baker and Brogan Mahan; and his cousin Brenda Turner. He is also survived by other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
