He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold "Whitey" Carman and Bonnie Thompson Carman; and his sister Barbara Wilkinson (Hobart). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Floyd Carman; his children, Tim Carman (Linda) of Hustonville, Steven Carman (Renee) of Richmond, Two, Lisa Wilson of Liberty and Amy Scott (Hartley) of Middleburg; his grandchildren, Adam Wilson (Kristen), Jacob Carman, Luke Scott (Becky), Zack Scott (Emma), Hannah Adams and Julia Turpin (William); his great grandchildren, Luke, Dom Scott, Kate, Hagan Wilson and Conway Turpin; and his sister Shirley Hines (Tom) of Middleburg.
