She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Gunkel and Caroline Kohls Gunkel; her husband Herbert E. Chalk; her siblings, Marcella Shlosser, Mildred Heiert, Edna Wagner, Delores Franzen, Raymond, Aloysius and Ralph Gunkel; and her great grandchildren, Maren and Finley Walz.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marlene Fromm (Wayne), Linda Hardy, Rose "Dietrich" Chalk and Audrey Dietrich (Frank); her sister Ruth Walker; and her grandchildren, Marla, Robin, Aaron, Thom, Tim, Tyler, Zachary, Sam and Sarah.
