He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Powell and Hilda Burnett; and his siblings, Estil, Glay Powell, Maudie Powell, Essie Bea Helm, Margaret Shelton and Jessie Lee Weber.
He is survived by: his wife Laurece Ann; his daughters, Michelle Renae Willoughby and Jessica Laura Powell (Brian Adams); his grandchildren, Cheri Willoughby LeMarble (Andy), Jason Willoughby (Jennifer) and Rowan Adams; his great grandchildren, Ashley, Connor, Elaina, Adam, Noah, Cadence and Logan; and his great great grandchild Samuel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary (suncoastprimate.org), 4600 US-19 ALT, Palm Harbor, FL 34683, an organization the Powell's spent a decade volunteering for in Palm Harbor.
