He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Cavanaugh and Alice Cavanaugh (Futrell); and his brothers, Donald L. Cavanaugh, Bobby Cavanaugh and William Cavanaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Cavanaugh of Melber; his children, Jimmy Cavanaugh (Sharr) of Paducah, Mark Cavanaugh (Tina) of Paducah and Teresa Dickson (Barry) of Melber; his brothers, Marvin Cavanaugh of Boaz and Curtis Cavanaugh Jr. of Dothan, AL; and his grandchildren, Nikki, Derek, Amy, Amanda, Kristian, Jesse, Michael and Kayla. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
