He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Wesley Earl and Lillie Mae Chaney Sears; his siblings, Rev. Carl Denton Sears (Ann), Bill Sears (Jean), Ruth Isaacs, Norma Wynn, Jean Isaacs and Ruby Hays; his son Wesley Randall Sears; and his stepdaughter Patricia Jude.
He is survived by: his sister Bettye Bales (Billy); his daughters, Kathy Alley (Lloyd) and Lorna Pyka (John); and his grandchildren, Joshua Sears (Kristin), Nicholas Pyka and Alexandria Pyka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
