He was loved and cherished by many people including: his pet Sambo; his wife Gwynne Hamm Clayton; his daughters, Karmaday Clayton of Cincinnati and Mackenzie Clayton of Cincinnati; his stepchildren, Sonia Jones of Baltimore, Tonia Saluga (Scott) of Independence, Joey Jones of Maysville and Christina Sapp (Robbie) of Maysville; and his siblings, Sandy Shappley of Russell Springs, Kentucky and Gary Clayton. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
