He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sames and Hallie Wise Sames; and his siblings, Dorothy Mullikin, Edward Sames, James W. Sames, William Sames, Paul Sames and Raymond Sames.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Baldwin Sames; his sons, Jeffery A. Sames (Michelle) of Maysville and Kevin B. Sames (Karen-Tingle) of Georgetown; his sister Betty Ann Allison of Midway; and his grandchildren, Nathan and Quinn Sames. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
