He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Appelman and Leota Federer Appelman. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Groves Appelman; his daughter Eugenia Lehman of Maysville; his grandson Nicholas Lehman; his great grandchildren, Linda, Anna Beth and Kevin Lehamn; and his siblings, Fred Appelman of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Appelman of Eatonton, GA and Margaret Boyce of Stephens City, VA..

Memorials may be given to Church of Christ in Christian Union or Alzheimer's Association.
