He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Whisman and Carrie Bates Whisman; his wife Ruth; his brothers, Marvin Whisman and Emery Richard "Bud" Whisman; and his siblings-in-law, Wilma Whisman, Jean Whisman and George Baldridge.
He is survived by: his children, Lynda Dearing (Perry), Jimmy Whisman (Jonnye), Billy Whisman (Rhonda), Cindy Mellenkamp (Chris), Jerry Whisman (Teresa) and Donny Whisman (Janie); his grandchildren, Eric Dearing, Jason Dearing, B. J. Whisman, Cody Whisman, Travis Whisman, Garrett Henderson, Joshua Whisman and Hayle Whisman; his great grandchildren, Karter Whisman, Kynslie Whisman, Jayden Fetters and Jordan Dearing; his siblings, James Whisman (Rachel), John Whisman (Carol) and Alberta Baldridge; and his sister-in-law Mary Whisman. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
