He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Tolle Dotson; his great grandchild Titus Miller; and his siblings, Clara Fooks, Sylvia Mastin, Billie Woods, Geraldine Clark, Kenneth Dotson and Shirley Dotson.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Dotson (Susan) and Sharon Miller (Dwaine) of Robertson County; his grandchildren, Timothy Miller, Kevin Dotson and Lora Unthank of Robertson County; and his great grandchildren, Andrew Unthank, Rachel Unthank and Eli Dotson. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
