He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt Knight and Geneva Moore Knight; and his son Scotty Short. He is survived by: his wife Alice Short Knight; his children, James of Mayking, Claude (Retha) of Tennessee, Verlin (Reva) of Mayking, Conley (Donna) of Mayking, Rena (Ricky) of Georgia and Christy of Mayking; and his brother Teddy Knight of Mayking.
