She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvil Sturgill and Cornia Perry Sturgill; her former husband Claude Joe Short; her husband Carl Knight; her son Scottie Short; and her siblings, Henry Perry, Arnold Sturgill, Arvil Ray Sturgill, David Sturgill, Ink Sturgill, John Ed Sturgill, Robetta Webb and Vada Lynn Webb.
She is survived by: her children, James Sturgill of Mayking, Claude Short of Tennessee, Verlin Short of Mayking, Conley Short of Mayking, Corinna Brashear of Georgia and Christy Sexton Short of Mayking; and her sisters, Priscilla Lucas of Thornton and Alicia Brock of Mayking.
