He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ray and Mary Elsie Lassiter Smithson. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Heath Smithson; his children, Ashley Evans (Robbie) of Indianapolis, IN. and James Smithson (Esha) of Tampa, FL.; his stepchildren, Katrina Stanley (Marshall), Kristian Macias (Miquel) and Jason Phelps (Ashley); his sister JoAnn Roy; his grandchildren, Olivia Evans, Callie Evans and Abby Evans; his stepgrandchildren, Christian Capiz, Carsyn Capiz, Marcos Macias, Alex Macias, Jansen Phelps and Jenna Phelps; his niece Amanda Nelson; and his great-nephew Charles Jace Nelson.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home - Mayfield (1223 W Broadway, Mayfield, KY 42066). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
