He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William, Donna Bentz, Joseph Negele and June Knudsen. He is survived by: his wife Traci Parsons Bentz; his parents, Tom Bentz and Jan Negele Bentz of Destin, FL; his grandmother Vera Negele of Pentwater, MI; his sons, Evan Burns of Foley, AL and Marshall Bentz of Springfield, MO; and his siblings, Thomas H. Bentz, Jr. of Washington, D. C. and Kimberly Bentz Leonard (Dustin).
