She was predeceased by: her husband James Lee Carter; her parents, Euin Lee and Gracie Williard O'Neal (McWhorter); her children, Joe Lee Carter, Russell Neal Carter and Donna Lyell; her grandchildren, Rhonda Jean Lear and James Morgan Garner; and her siblings, Edward Lee O'Neal, J. C. O'Neal, Augesteen Garrison and Nellie Eastep.
She is survived by: her children, Regina Burney (Frank) of Mayfield, KY, Darlene Ray (Clay) of Benton, KY, Randall Carter (Paula) of Benton, KY and Barry Carter (Melinda) of Mayfield, KY; and her sisters, Dorothy Brady of Clinton, KY and Edna Pittman of Clinton, KY. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
