She was predeceased by: her husband George Lewis Cates, Sr.; her siblings, Nancy Cole, Georgia Nell Johnson, Ruby Mae Pussic, Bill Joe Reed, Walter B. Reed and Clarence C. Reed; her grandsons, Chris Cates and Greg Jolley; and her parents, Marion Reed and Etta Ray Reed.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Jerry Cates (Carol) of Cuba, KY, Jimmy "Keeter" Cates (Deborah) of Lynnville, KY, George "Junior" Cates (Judy) of Cuba, KY and Beverly Cates Jolley of Emmett, MI. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Cuba Baptist Church Cemetery (303 KY-83, Mayfield, KY 42066).
