She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Helen Yates and Bobby Joe Yates; and her brother Larry Joe Yates. She is survived by: her husband Richard T. Carter; her daughter Michelle Lea Johnson (Carter); her son-in-law James Kevin Johnson; and her granddaughters, Karis Michelle Johnson and Kaci Lynn Johnson.
