He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sexton and Vannie Osborne Sexton; his son Denzil Sexton Jr.; and his siblings, Paul Vernon Sexton, John Henry Sexton, Charles Sexton and Nancy Case.
He is survived by: his wife Delores D. Bush Sexton; his children, Jeremy Sexton (Misty) of Drift, Kentucky and Regina Fraley (Joe) of Melvin, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Michael Brett, Matthew, Hannah Grace, John Ethan, Tanner Blake and Keira Brayden; and his sisters, Nora Scarberry of Martin, Neva Tackett of Printer and Kathleen Mangrum of New York. He is also survived by 5 Great Grandchildren.
