He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Vanover and Dovie Vanover (Marshall); his wife Barbara Cantrell Vanover; his son Johnnie Vanover, Jr.; and his sister Opal.
He is survived by: his daughter Connie Landis; his grandchildren, Jeremy Landis and Tabitha Vanover; and his niece Rosemary Honeycutt.
