He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Wal" Holbrooks and Opal Sexton Holbrooks; his siblings, James, Jerry and Susan; and his grandson Lincoln Miller.

He is survived by: his daughter Harley Holbrooks of Marrowbone; his brothers, Eddie Holbrooks of Sevierville, Malcolm Holbrooks of Lookout, Ronnie Holbrooks of Pikeville and Julian; and his grandchildren, Addison Holbrooks, James Morgan Miller and MacAustin Miller.
