He was predeceased by: his parents, Toby Powell and Martha Cowens Allen; his stepfather Delbert Allen; and his former wife Betty Sawyers Powell. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Sawyers Powell; his son Matthew William Powell (Terri); his granddaughter Taylor Powell; his cousins, Josephine "Spunky" Gross, Susan Rice and Renee Gabbard; and his pet Cocoa.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Gideons International In Memory of Willie and in Honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.
