He is survived by: his sons, Shawn Bernard and Scott Bernard (Malinda); his grandchildren, Morgan Bernard, Shyanne Bernard, Shamus Bernard and Alyssa Bernard; his great grandchild Lottie Jewell Bernard; and his brother Van Hollen (Birdie) of Choctaw, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
