He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Spurlock and Alice Allen Spurlock; his son Jody Spurlock; and his brothers, Richmond Spurlock, Don Spurlock and Roy Spurlock.

He is survived by: his wife Bertha Roberts Spurlock; his children, Susan Fugate (Benny), Gilbert Ray Spurlock, Billy Lee Spurlock (Lola) and Jonathan Spurlock (Melissa); his granddaughters, Brandy Goodpaster and Savannah Napier; his siblings, Ruth Smallwood (Taylor) of London, KY and Bobby Spurlock (Marilyn) of Manchester, KY; and his grandson Cameron Peyton Spurlock. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
