He is survived by: his wife Vernice Messer; his children, Michelle Howard (Dean), Todd Messer (Amanda) and Crystal Messer-McQueen (Travis); his siblings, Flem Messer (Tina), Betty Parks (Charles) and Quada Trobaugh (Eugene); and his sisters-in-law, Bobbie Messer, Creasie Messer and Alphie Messer.
