He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Lawson and Doris Martin Cottongim; his grandson Timothy Michael Patterson; and his siblings, Johnny Dean Lawson, Charles Freddy Lawson and Linda Sue Lawson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Serena Patterson and Mary Jo Fisher; his grandchildren, John C. Patterson, Donnie Patterson, Jimmy Ray Lawson, Jonathan Saylor, Alexis Collins and Betty Marie Fisher; and his brother Bobby Joe Lawson. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
