It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Wayne Abner (Manchester, Kentucky), born in Barbourville, Kentucky, who passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oland Abner and Laura Abner (Philpot); his sister Lisa Abner Edwards; and his grandparents, Johnny "Beerfield" Abner, Mallie Bundy Abner, Toleman and Sally Gibson Philpot.
He is survived by: his siblings, Becki Abner Ferrell and David Glenn Abner; his nephew Andrew Abner; his great-nephew Brandon Abner; and his nieces and nephews, Dennis Abner, Chelsea Abner Evans, Kayla Abner Dezarn, Mitchell Scalf, Brian Abner, William Abner, Ashton Abner and Mason Ferrell.
