Don Ed E. Combs Obituary
August 25, 1945 - May 9, 2018 Don E. Combs age 72 went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 9, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones. Survived by his loving wife Jackie Combs of 51 years. Two sons: Gary (Theresa) Combs of South Lebanon and Jeff (Dani) Combs of South Lebanon. Grandchildren: Anna, Rae Lyn, Jake, Janie and Josie Combs of South Lebanon and Cassady Moore and Brady Bohannon.
Brothers: Grant (Mapril) Combs of Myrtle Point Oregon and James (Lila) Combs of Manchester Ky. Sisters: Kathlene (Estill) Ball of Harrison Ind., Julie (Cliff) Roberts of Hamilton Oh., Christine Gabbard of Clay Co. Ky and Diana Stidams of Ky. Special Nephews: Eddie (Pam) Combs and Ronnie (Vicki) Combs of South Lebanon. Special niece, Pam (Ben) Hensley of Clay Co. Ky.
Many more special nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Hobart Combs and Fannie Byrd Combs of Clay Co. Ky.; and brothers: Gary Lee, John and Willard Combs; sister, Glenneva Napier. Don attended Clay Co. High school then proudly served in the Army from 1964-1966. He retired as a sprinkler fitter from Dalmation 4/29/2005 and as village administrator in January of 2009.
Don was a member of First Baptist church of South Lebanon. His faith was in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4, Death burial and resurrection and he looked forward to the fulfillment of Romans 8:23, the redemption of his body. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Don was happiest when he was in Ky with his family or grouse hunting in Wisconsin with his sons and nephew Eddie.
Don was a very special man that touched many hearts. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 12th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Arthur McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at the Combs Cemetery on Teges. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY.
