He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Rice and Bertie Davidson Rice; and his sisters, Imogene Eggars, Joyce Bowman, Zella Mae Davidson, Sylvia McGowan and Rose Mary Bowman.
He is survived by: his sister Lousada (Larry Dempsey) of Benton, KY.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, a stepdaughter.
