He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Byrd and Eunice Sawyers Byrd; his daughters, Karen Byrd and Betty Jo Noonchester; and his siblings, Willie Byrd, Ronnie Byrd, Melisa Byrd McClure, Helen Byrd Mays and Rosetta Lunsford.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Ann Edwards Byrd; his sons, Michael Byrd and Bennie Byrd, Jr.; his grandchildren, Lillian Byrd, Christopher Byrd and Alex Thiel; and his siblings, Charlene Collins and John Byrd.
