She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Robert and Grace Maxie Stevens; her husband Robert Root; her sisters, Joan Cotton and Jean Sams; her niece Amy Joan Baker; and her nephew Benjamin Goins.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Shannon Root and Jason Root; her nieces, Yasmine Stevens, Zoe Beth Stevens and Terah Colfield; and her siblings, Faye Hicks (Ray), Vickie Bruner (Tony), Debbie Goins (Terry), Danny Stevens (Bertha) and Bobby Stevens (Kim).
