She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambrose Sams and Dailie Hacker Sams; her husband J. L. Howard; and her siblings, Astor Sams, Nannie Mae Sams, Lucy Sams, Glenna Davis, Oscar Sams, Opal Bowling, Anna Lee Davidson and John Sams.
She is survived by: her sons, Jerry L. Howard (Patty) and Jackie Howard (Audrey); her grandchildren, Angela Howard, Brian Howard (Amy), Shawna Howard (Tommy D. Smith) and Jonathan Howard (Veronica); her great grandchildren, Kelsey, Nathan, Carter, Evie, Sterling and Ace; and her siblings-in-law, Shorty Howard (Opal) and Ann Howard. She is also survived by caretakers and other family, friends and other relatives.
