She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Benningfield; her parents, Elie Slayton and Myrtle Gore Slayton; and her siblings, Rosie Jones, Mattie Pottinger, Ermine Gardner, Gertie Hattaway, Lucille Hall, Helen Ragland, Jodie Slayton, Richard Slayton, Gentry Slayton, Elbert Slayton and Johnnie Monroe Slayton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dora Heath of Magnolia and Carolyn Hash of Magnolia; her grandchildren, Michael Heath (Billie Jo) of Ypsilanti and Cheryl Bryant (Troy) of Elizabethtown; her great grandchildren, Danielle Edwards (Jacob), Daniel Bryant (Mallory), Amber Mejia-Hernandez (Jose) and Mariah Walters (Tanner); her stepgreat-grandsons, Joshua (Tonya), Robert and Greg; her great great grandchildren, Jack, Gabriella, Anthony, Sofia, Kaylee, Lane, Brentlee, Hunter and Isaac; her sisters, Geneva Peace of Magnolia, Lena Peace of Elizabethtown and Ann Goff of Louisville; and her close friends, Junior and Nancy Beard. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
