He was predeceased by: his daughter Della Thompson; his grandson Colby Thompson; his mother Hazle Underwood Thompson; and his brother Leon Thompson. He is survived by: his close friend Carol Andrews; his children, Pennie Akin (Tom) of Green County, Rowland Thompson (Aelena) of Magnolia, Jeremy Andrews of Hodgenville, Jason Andrews of Hodgenville and Joey Andrews (Sarah) of Louisville; and his siblings, Marcie Weller (Frankie) of Magnolia, Wanda of Mt. Sherman, Jewell Pickett (Hayden) of Mt. Sherman, Carl Thompson of Glendale and Glen Thompson (Mary) of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchild and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home (9025 New Jackson Hwy, Magnolia, KY 42757). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
