Randall Allen Ramage Obituary

Randall "Randy" Allen Ramage went to be with the Lord on September 21st, 2024, after a battle with cancer.

Randy was born in Marion, Kentucky, on August 22nd, 1948, to Clyde "Max" and Wanda Ramage. Randy grew up with his sister, Margie.

A driven man, Randy was keen to serve his country and had his father sign for him to join the Army at the young age of 17, and off to Korea he went. Through his service, he honed his core beliefs and readied himself for the rest of his life to take care of and provide for his family.

He married the love of his life, Gail, on January 17th, 1970, and in their 54 years together, they created a beautiful family whose legacy and growth still continues today. Randy always made sure his bride was cared for and loved her dearly, treasuring their time together. Randy also loved his four children, Heather (Mitch) Mitchell, Ricky (Traci) Ramage, Randall (Shannon) Ramage, and Jeff (Jennifer) Ramage, and made sure each of them knew just how much they meant to him and how proud he was of them and their own families.

Randy was a man of many talents and abilities, but he was always steadfast in making sure his family was taken care of. He worked as a roofer for 7 years, and then he affectionately became known as "Varmint" in the coal mines for 36 years. When he wasn't working to provide for his family, you could find him in his garage working on Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, or camping with his kids. In his later years, he would spend time with his grandchildren and could be caught playing on slot machines with them.

Randy was known lovingly as "Papaw" to his ten grandchildren, Michelle (Shane) Fox, Lindy (Jordan) Holloman, Everett (Josie) Mitchell, Cody (Autumn) Ramage, Kati (Ben) Butero, Max Ramage, Luke Ramage, Seth Ramage, Tucker Ramage, and Teagan Ramage, who he loved immensely. Papaw was always silly and joked with his grandchildren and could be caught turning his hat sideways and pretending to rap to them. He was also Papaw to his eight great grandchildren, Finley, Everley, Marley, and Waverley Fox, Percy and Millie Ramage, Edith Butero, and Scarlett Holloman, and helped to ensure their spoiledness.

Randall, Randy, Dad, Varmint, Papaw, or however you knew him, will live on forever through his legacy and our fond memories of him. He is at peace and with the Lord, watching his family from above.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his wife, sister, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday September 25, 2024, and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Everett Mitchell, Cody Ramage, Max Ramage, Luke Ramage, Seth Ramage, and Tucker Ramage.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Keep Randall's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
