He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Schmidt and Nettie Grimwood Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Kuehn Schmidt; his daughters, Angie Miller (Greg) of Rumsey, KY and Amy Adams (Shawn) of Madisonville; his brother Darwin Schmidt (Karen) of Bloomington, IN; his sister-in-law Charlotte A. Kuehn; his uncle Marvin Schmidt (Sharon) of Evansville; and his grandchildren, Brittany Haynes (Jeff), Kayla Davis (Clay), Amanda Thompson (Cody), Ashley Dame (Wesley) and Kaleb Adams. He is also survived by five great-grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home (2285 N Main St, Madisonville, KY 42431). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
