He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Farmer and Novella Farmer (Sneed) of Mannington; his siblings, Betty Joe Farmer and Bobby "Winky" Farmer; and his former wife Faye Brooks Farmer.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Vandiver Farmer; his daughter Marchetti Underwood of Owensboro; his stepdaughter Melissa Larkins (Casey) of White Plains; and his grandchildren, Ashton Farmer, Elizabeth Larkins and Sarah Larkins.
