He was predeceased by: his parents, Vadie Lucille Blaine Dickerson and Elic Paul Dickerson; his wife Aretta Dickerson; and his siblings, Wanda Pleasant, James Paul Dickerson and Oretha Todd.

He is survived by: his siblings, Leroy Dickerson (Marilyn) of Beulah, KY, Michael Dickerson of Dawson Springs, KY and Fay Davis of Lincoln Park, MI; his niece Belinda Davis (Mount) of Evansville, IN; and his grandchildren, William Doster, Turner Davis, Hannah Davis and Justin Doster. He is also survived by nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
