She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucy Wallace Bivins and Robert Bivins; her husband James H. Simmons; her sons, James H. Simmons, Jr. and Douglas Ross Simmons; and her siblings, Garry Bivins and Judith "Patty" Whitaker.
She is survived by: her daughter Lynda Oakley (Steve Oakley); her sisters, June Cavanah of Crofton, KY, Cheri Martin of Madisonville and Polly (Kenneth); and her grandchildren, Stephanie Utley (Shane) of Nebo, KY, Rachel Brandt (Jesse) of Strasburg, IL, James "Coty" Simmons (Hannah) of Madisonville, Taylor Lucas (Ben) of Madisonville and Kendal Simmons of Greenville, KY. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
