He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Dorothy Smeathers Smith; his sister Linda Reynolds; his stepdaughter Tammy McElwain; and his nephew Sean McElwain.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia Sparks Smith; his children, Kim Smith Booker (Bobby Hamilton) and Lee Smith (Bonnie Clayton); his stepson Bill "Stormy" McElwain (Karen); and his brothers, David Smith (Mona) and Jimmy Smith (Debbie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
